Several years ago two old friends (who also happened to be Royal Ambassadors) were discussing what artists always discuss when they get together - and, as often happens during a brainstorming session, they had a good idea. Nancy Snellen and DeLane Lange formed a partnership and Nancy & DeLane Designs was born.

DeLane is an internationally recognized designer/teacher whose beautiful roses and Santa faces are, perhaps, her best known designs, but her designs include a variety of different subjects from florals to snowmen. For years she worked for Hallmark, Russell Stover, and Lilly Tulip, creating attractive card designs and packaging. As a Royal Ambassador, her specialty is designing many of the Royal E Z Rub-On^TM Transfers.

Over the past 18 years DeLane has taught at numerous mini-conventions and seminars in the US, Canada, Great Brittan, Australia, and Japan. She has also taught at 31 national conventions. Living in St. Peters, MO, (a suburb of St. Louis) with her husband, Don, when DeLane isn’t in her studio she enjoys her five children and grandchildren.

Nancy is a Certified Product Demonstrator (CPD) and a Certified Painting Teacher (CPT). She has taught and demoed at many conventions and held seminars across the US as well as in Canada. In addition, she taught four seminars at San Bonita College in Vulcan, Panama. For several years she wrote a column for PaintWorks magazine and HomeSpirations, an on line e-zine. She has published 5 painting books, contributed to 2 others, and for 13 years served as a product liaison for several on-line painting lists.

Living in California, Mo with her husband, David, the horses, chickens, 3 goats and 4 kids help keep Nancy busy. After her beloved Chow, Belle, passed away the heartache was eased when Tiger, a 2 month old Bichon Frize who lives up to her name, came to live with them. When she isn’t painting or writing Nancy greatly enjoys spending time with her granddaughter who, at the tender age of two, already shows signs of becoming an artist.

Nancy considers this partnership the best of both worlds. DeLane is an excellent designer/painter while Nancy, who does some designing and painting, prefers photography and writing. As a team, each artist can do what they enjoy most and offer painters some wonderful projects with step by step instructions and photos.
